The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money. A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

Our Constitution is the longest standing governing document in the world. So where could it’s influences have come from? A project done by many scholars analyzed over 15,000 documents from the “Founding Era” and found that 34% of documented quotes were from the Bible! Hamilton and Washington stated that the idea of separation of powers came from Jeremiah 17:0. Many founding fathers openly said that the Bible influenced the writing of the Constitution. Jefferson recommended that the U.S. Seal depict a Bible scene and the word, “God”. Dr. Benjamin Rush formed the first Bible society and “Sunday schools”. In September of 1774 when Congress met, they opened with a prayer and reading of four chapters from the Bible. Today Christians are loosing their influence and must stand up. We must be the salt and the light in all aspects of society. Psalm 33:12 declares, “Blessed is that nation who’s God is the Lord.”
